Children can learn effectively from watching television. Therefore, children should be encouraged to watch television both at home and at school. To what extent, do you agree or disagree?

Knowledge can be easily and effectively acquired by children through watching a wide range of TV programmes as they are funny and easy to understand. Thus, some people claim that children should be encouraged to watch various TV programmes both at home and at school. In my opinion, I cannot agree and take their side.
It is evident that disadvantages of watching TV outweigh its advantages, if children are allowed to watch TV both at home and at school. Firstly, it is absolutely impossible for TV to take the place of schooling when children are growing up, because schooling helps children acquire knowledge systematically and pick up useful skills, such as efficient communication, effective interaction, etc. Further, it causes serious eyesight damages for children to stare at TV for hours
