Education is of vital importance to individual development and social progress. What should education consist of in order to fulfill both ends?

A person’s life is usually improved through lifelong education - from kindergarten to post-graduation agencies, one fulfills mental tasks and learn various skills and knowledge. Indeed, education plays a significant role in individual development and social progress. In order to fulfill both ends, I believe that education should consist of responsible professors, established teaching equipments, and well-rounded teaching plans from science to liberal arts. Moreover, parents and schools ought to work closely to enhance the benefits of the educational system.

As for the goal of individual development, schools and colleges ought to hire teachers and professors with formal diplomas and teaching experiences. Formal diplomas are required because they ensure that teachers are morally righterous, they do not scold students or even punish them physically. Only under a friendly environment can students open up their minds and learn to treat each other with equality and mutual assistance, and this in turn will improve their cognitive impairments. Sometimes inexperienced teachers can be awkward in front of the classroom, even if they are quite confident in their knowledge and teaching materials. As a result, schools should consider employing teachers and professors with several years’ experiences and those who are patient and passionate about the teaching career.

What’s more, hardware facilities are also significant to improve the teaching quality. First-class schools ought to be equipped with teaching buildings, multimedia classrooms, libraries, gynasiums, and playgrounds for students to soar high their souls and build up strong bodies. Without these facilities, teaching and learning can be a fatiguing task that no one can persist long. Instead of sitting in the classroom all day long, students need to take part in more social and physical activities, for instance, community service learning, first aid and CPR, choir groups, seminars and so on.

In addition, as for the goal of social progress, parental and societal influence on children ought not to be neglected. Schools, families and companies need to work hand in hand to guarentee that knowledge and skills learned are practical and can easily be applied to the students’ future career and scientific experiments. Parental surveillance and support are superficial for children’s growth, that explains why students from broken families often suffer lower grades and mindless attention in the classroom. Interning at companies and social organizations helps students for a better positioning and a more suitable career planning.

In conclusion, education exists everywhere. To be responsible for students, it should consist of qualified facilities both in hardware and software resources, sensible educational plans and goals. In the meanwhile, parents and societal organizations need to fulfill their duties and cooperate with schools and teachers to create a better tomorrow.
