Using a computer every day can have more negative than positive effects on children. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Nowadays, whether children should use computers every day has become a controversial topic. Personally, I tend to believe that computers play an irreplaceable role in children’s daily life.
It is evident that the advantages of children using a computer outweigh its disadvantages. Firstly, computers connect children with this constantlychanging world. More specifically, since the information era was ushered in, our life has been being revolutionised. Everything around us keeps being transformed by the information technology. At the same time, computers are one of the essential tools that allow our children to keep pace with this development. Secondly, a variety of great benefits has been provided to our children by computers at school. For example, when our kids go to school, a wide range of computer-based activities have been utilised to help them acquire various kinds of knowledge. And it proves that these activities have brought great benefits to their study.
Admittedly, drawbacks do exist when it comes tocomputers. It is through computers that such adverse information as violence and pornography has been exposed to our children, some of whom, as a result, have been negatively influenced and go astray. However, if parents at home and teachers at school can provide proper guidance to children on how to appropriately use computers, it will be a different story. All negative information should be filtered from kids under the supervision of their parents and teachers.
In conclusion, computers have provided great benefits to our next generation, such as helping them keep up with the world and facilitating their study. Therefore, children should be encouraged to make the most of computers in their daily life. Meanwhile, proper supervision from parents and teachers should be in place.
